End of Life Care – New Starter Training |
Target audience: |
All nurses new to City Care and the community, including newly qualified nurses. |
Course Description: |
The aim of the course is to provide a range of essential clinical skills to support nurses caring for patients during the last year of life and into the in their final stages of life. The day will include the importance of using EPaCCS, training on anticipatory medications, syringe pump competencies, preferred priorities of care and verification of death training. The day has been designed to give new starters the basic skills to start providing palliative care in the community setting. We would recommend that nurses then complete our 4-day course
