Course Description: |
This training is for all SCPHN Health Visitors and Family Nurses working within the Children’s Public Health 0-19 Nursing Service who complete the mandated core contacts: Antenatal, Birth Visit, 6-8 week review, targeted 3-4 month review and 8-12 month reviews. The training will cover the harms of smoking in pregnancy to mother and baby. Benefits of stopping. Harms of second-hand smoke. Use of Electronic cigarettes. How to raise the issue and Ask-Advise-Act. Nicotine Replacement therapy. Specialist support available and how to refer to services. |
