Band 4 staff who’s scope of practice requires them to administer B12. |
| Course Description: |
Our Vitamin B12 Training Course is a mixture of both Practical and Theory. You will gain knowledge of different forms of B12; conditions associated with B12 deficiency; how to identify potential deficiency and how to treat this; along with contraindications and health and safety precautions. Relevant anatomy and physiology is also covered during the training day and we will explore injection techniques and the 5R’s of medicines administration. Shock pack training is delivered back to back with this session as those who administer Vitamin B12 injections will be required to carry a shock pack and be competent in the administration of intramuscular adrenaline. For candidates who have completed shock pack training within the last year, they will not be required to complete this element of the training session. |
