This is a 2 day course - Participants need to commit to both days. Topics include the benefits and barriers to breast feeding, the importance of skin to skin, relationship building. A & P of the breast, lactation and making of milk. Common issues of breast feeding and managing them. Milk expression and storage. Case studies. There will be a requirement to observe a breast feeding mother either in practice or at a breast feeding group and a practical skills assessment. |
