| Course Description: |
The Parenting and Behaviour Programme of Care (1/2 day) will support practitioners to develop knowledge and skills on parenting and behaviour. It is important to understand that parenting and behaviour IS not prescriptive and very mucg depends on the experiences of the child. The course will examine definitions of behaviour, innate and learned behaviours, neurotypical stages of behaviour (0-5) and developing emotional regulation. The course will also challenging behaviours and possible causes of behavioural issue and the tools (Solihull Approach) which can be used to unpick behaviour as part of a Programme of Care. There will also be scenario activities and information provided of strategies (again not one size fits all) along with the resource which can be used to support behaviour and parent management. |
