Reducing Cancer Inequalities: Awareness & Early Detection in Our Communities |
| Target audience: |
|
| Course Description: |
As part of Ethnic Minority Cancer Awareness Month (July), we are pleased to invite colleagues to an engaging and informative session with Dr Thilan Bartholomeuz.
This session aims to raise awareness of cancer screening and early detection, particularly within ethnically diverse communities, helping colleagues better support their families, friends and the wider communities they serve. It will be of interest to anyone across CityCare who is passionate about promoting better health outcomes and tackling health inequalities.
Dr Bartholomeuz will share his work as Clinical Director for the lung cancer screening programme in Nottingham, including its impact in reaching more deprived communities and supporting earlier diagnosis. He will also highlight exciting new developments in cancer detection, including the oesophageal cancer testing pilot being launched in pharmacies across Nottingham, and explain where people can access testing locally.
This will be an informal and interactive session, offering a unique opportunity to ask questions directly to someone leading this work and to explore how we can play a role in improving awareness, access and outcomes - particularly for ethnically diverse communities. |
