Nutritional Problems in Infants |
| Target audience: |
FOR CLINICAL STAFF ONLY - Community children’s 0-19 public health nursing staff under Nottingham CityCare Partnership, or community pharmacists and GP’s within Nottingham City boundaries who work with children under 5 years of age. This course is essential training for Band 5-7 staff who have regular contact with families and are involved in the diagnosis and management of common feeding difficulties in infants. It is ideal for those on the preceptorship programme, but we do not accept students on this course. If Band 4 staff wish to attend, please liaise with the facilitator/ dietetic department first. |
| Course Description: |
To feel confident in providing up to date, evidence based advice to parents/ carers in relation to nutritional problems such as colic, reflux and constipation in infants and recognising symptoms of allergy; undertaking the diagnostic process in line with current guidelines and supporting milk free complementary feeding as necessary
There is a pre-requisite to watch 2 x approx. 40 minute webinars on functional gastrointestinal disorders in infants prior to attending the course, to provide the background on which the course builds upon and allow time to focus on the practical management of these conditions.
