Each session comprises theory and physical skills, providing techniques to meet the needs of patients and staff. Course Contents are: Procedural and legal context, Medical implications of techniques, Policies and procedures, Use of force legislation, Distance, stance and positioning, Distance and action vs. reaction, Posture, Tactical awareness, Relocation/distraction skills, Safe moving, Hip checking, Relocation, Breakaway and disengagement techniques, Disengagement skills and Scenario's
By the end of this course your team will be able to: Understand the procedural and legal context of violence, Demonstrate approved skills to manage challenging behaviour, Prevent behaviours escalating using positive body language |
